An Olympic moment is now on the menu in Newark.

Hobby’s Delicatessen and Restaurant created a sandwich named after Winter Olympics champion Jack Hughes.

Owners Michael and Marc Brummer added the “G” sandwich after the ice hockey player scored the game-winning goal for Team USA.

The sandwich was inspired by iconic images of Hughes celebrating, including one where he’s seen biting his gold medal.

“Those are the two photos that, in our minds, created the sandwich,” Michael Brummer said. “When I pictured making it, I was thinking about that moment.

”The sandwich features tender, rare roast beef topped with American cheese and golden sauteed onions, all stacked high in classic deli style.

Costumers say it tastes as good as the moment that inspired it.

“It is really good," one person said after taking a bite.

The "Jack Golden Goal" can also be served with the deli’s popular Olympic onion rings, adding to the theme.

According to the Brummers, the tribute has quickly become a hit.

“It’s been very, very popular,” Michael Brummer said. “We’ve had people come back a second day and a third day to have it, so it must be good.

”The sandwich costs $22.86, a nod to Hughes’ No. 86 jersey.
