An incumbent Newark councilman has accused his challenger of voter intimidation and tampering Wednesday.
Councilman Hector Corchado (D-North Ward) says he has sworn affidavits from six constituents who say members of Anibal Ramos Jr.?s campaign entered their homes and intimidated them into signing up for absentee ballots. Corchado says Ramos? campaign member then checked off Ramos? name on the ballot.
Ramos says the accusations are ridiculous, and he claims Corchado has engaged in extensive voter intimidation. Ramos accuses Corchado of using sound trucks for negative campaigning.
