'I think that’s disgusting.' Antisemitic flyers found in Freeport neighborhood

More antisemitic flyers were found in Nassau County homes Sunday. This time, it was in a neighborhood in the Village of Freeport.
The discovery comes weeks after similar flyers were found in Rockville Centre, Long Beach and Oceanside.
Neighbors in Freeport said they were rattled by the findings.
“Everybody has the right to their own religion. I don’t think anyone has the right to condemn just because they’re Jewish. I think that’s disgusting,” said resident Joanne Stuhlinger.
People in the Freeport neighborhood found bags with a flyer inside with what residents described as hateful and antisemitic content.
On each bag, there was a label that specifically read that the neighborhood wasn’t targeted, but that it was “randomly delivered.”
Similar incidents were reported to police in the last several weeks after flyers were found in Rockville Centre, Woodmere and now in Freeport.
Hempstead Councilman Anthony D’Esposito said he received a call from a rabbi about a recent incident.
“Anytime you walk out of your house and you realize that overnight that someone or multiple people have come onto your property to put something there and display hate, I think people get worried, people get scared,” D’Esposito said.
Police are actively investigating these incidents and searching for the person or people responsible.
The flyers reference the Goyim Defense League, a group that the Anti-Defamation League has identified as an antisemitic hate group.
“I think they should figure out who’s distributing them and put a stop to it because it is disturbing,” Stuhlinger said.
While police look for those responsible, officials said they have stepped up police patrols, especially around synagogues.
