The number of Bronx and city eateries that failed health inspections jumped 17 percent from last year, according to the Department of Health. La Tormenta in Hunts Point is one of the restaurants on the list. The owners of the eatery, however, say they run a clean restaurant and that the inspection was done in their absence. They are contesting the findings in court Tuesday. According to the report, one in six of the city?s more than 27,000 restaurants failed the city's hygiene test. The restaurants were charged a total of $17.3 million in fines.
