Students in Plainfield were given 500 free books to enjoy.

The Shiloh Baptist Church brought together different nonprofits – including one organization that mentors teenagers.

A dedication was held to mark the city’s second Little Free Library. Organizers say this is more important than ever because the COVID-19 pandemic set students back academically.

“Communities need hope, especially after these last two years. So this was a way of offering hope to the community that we would bring service and joy and food and laughter out to them,” says senior pastor Rev. Dr. Danielle Brown.

Brown is the first woman to be named senior pastor at the church.
