As we step into the fall season, let's reflect on what was a remarkably hot summer across the lower Hudson Valley.

There were three more 90-degree days in 2025 as compared to 2024, resulting in this summer being in the Top 10 of the hottest on record.

White Plains experienced three heat waves this summer. However, each heat wave occurred in each month of the summer season (June-August).

The heat was not the only standout this summer. It was also a noticeably dry summer for White Plains. Since 2021, it was the second driest to date, but ranks at 25th out of 80 all time.

There were several dry stretches this summer for the region, which resulted in just 10.68 inches of overall rain accumulation during the summer season. Normally, White Plains accumulates 12.53 inches of rainfall total.

Remarkably hot and significantly dry summer for the region.

What was your favorite summer memory of 2025?
