A Howell man has been sentenced on bias intimidation charges against the Lakewood Jewish community, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor.
According to officials, on March 26, Lakewood police learned that Anthony Lodespoto, 43, had made threatening remarks on Facebook Messenger that he was going to go to Lakewood and assault members of the Jewish community with a baseball bat. He made similar threats to Gov. Phil Murphy through Facebook.
A judge sentenced Lodespoto to 180 days in the Ocean County Jail as a condition of 18 months non-custodial probation relative to his previously entered guilty plea.
Lodespoto has been in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest on March 27.
