Well, we're waking up and smelling the roses this morning. Joining us is Marie from A VS events. Teaching us how to make our own little floral arrangements. A VS is an event planning company and floral design. What does it stand for? So uh events, it's actually means at your service. And so we are talking this morning about trying to make this a little bit easier for the Diy brides. Right? Yes. Well, interestingly, since you mentioned, we actually started um this, we're offering these workshops. Um I love teaching. Um I don't know if you know this about me. I used to work as a scientist. Um Yeah, which has nothing to do with this but cloning DNA protein engineering. So the scientist in me loves teaching, loves sharing knowledge. And so um I've been teaching quite a bit and one of the courses I have now is for brides who are um would wanna try their hands to do their own flowers and um and they can learn from us so how to do that. We were talking before once you pick the vase. Yes, I was thinking, ok, floral foam, but you actually use something else. Yeah, there are different method methodologies. So one of them is floral foam, which now it is, again, we wanna use more sustainable methods. Plus your flowers will last longer if they're sitting directly in water. So for instance, um chicken wire you could use what's called um like a grading methods like using tape where you criss cross your tape over your vase. Basically, you're creating spaces where the stems can be held in place without moving too much. That's what you're trying to do. And so that's so that's so you just kind of stick it in there. That's right. But you need to create that method that grid. Mhm. Um criss crossing to hold the stems for you. Now, when it comes, you can also, I'm sorry, or you could also use what's called a frog frog. It's like a pin, it's a very heavy metal piece and on top of it or these little pins and they will also, if you put your stem on there, it will hold it in place. All right. So quickly, let me ask you this when it comes to actually picking the flowers, do you frown upon going to maybe grocery store flowers or maybe even going to your own garden? Absolutely good point. Many of the greens in here is actually from my own garden and I have apples in here and that's actually from apple trees in my house right now. That's blooming. Um So much all the foliage are actually from my garden. So I purposely um invested in trees and plants that I use in my work. So, tell me what's your next project that you're working on? So, again, right now I'm really focused on um intellectual property. I've been saying, which is lots of teaching. Um And we're actually looking into um opening another location, um possibly in the North Brunswick area um for flowers, um and weddings and events. Um you know, our clients can find us there. So that's, that's the main focus right now. And one piece of advice quickly for any brides out there fall brides that are thinking about their floral arrangements. Hm, I would say, um I don't, I, I don't, I'm not much for trends. I like Timeless. Be just be beautiful work, just beautiful floral. Um As you can see, my work is very garden style, sort of very lush and that's Timeless. It never goes out of style. All right. Well, we're gonna put your information on our website.
