Ismar Minero?s family is also calling on Hoboken Mayor David Roberts to be more vigilant. They say the shooting would not have happened if the 19-year-old suspect, Antonio Rivera Jr., had not been released on bail for attempted murder charges. The victim?s family believes a gang member ordered the murder last week on the street. The mayor has expressed sympathy, saying the city would do more to stop violence. Officials have not confirmed whether Minero?s death was gang-related.
A wake was held Monday for the slain 18-year-old.
