The city of Hoboken is giving out free garbage cans to residents as part of the city’s effort to combat its growing rodent problem.
News rules went into effect last month to require outdoor trashcans to have tight-fitting lids.
Residents can now pick up those lidded containers starting on Monday, Sept. 25 at the following locations.
Sept. 25 – 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. – Multi-Service Center hockey rink, on Adams Street between First and Second Streets
Sept. 26 – 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. – Multi-Service Center hockey rink, on Adams Street between First and Second Streets
Sept. 28 – 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. – 13th & Jefferson Streets
Sept. 30 – 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. – former Union Dry Dock, 901 Sinatra Dr.
Containers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents must bring proof of residency.
