A high-end restaurant in Little Falls is almost finished with a complete overhaul into an affordable, family friendly American grill.
South City Prime will reopen next week as Fire and Oak, offering burgers, ribs and other specialties. The restaurant?s owner says the restaurant?s original concept could not survive in today?s current financial conditions.
?The idea to change this was not voluntary,? says owner Graeme Dorras. ?We feel it was forced upon us by the economy.?
Corporate chef Gregory Webb says fresh ingredients will make the new restaurant?s familiar fare stand out.
?Food does not have to be complex, or, if you will, overly sophisticated, to be great ? and that?s kind of what we?re doing,? says Webb.
In addition to the culinary transformation, the restaurant is subtly changing its décor to make guests feel more comfortable.
South City Prime?s last day of business will be Jan. 17, before reopening as Fire and Oak on Jan. 21.
