New York Comptroller Alan Hevesi survived a political scandal to win a second four-year term Tuesday.
The Queens Democrat beat out Republican challenger J. Christopher Callaghan. Hevesi is facing a political scandal over his use of a state-paid chaufeur for his wife. Even with the win, Hevesi still faces possible removal from office and a criminal investigation.
Hevesi told supporters in his acceptance speech that "Tonight has been a perfect night for the people of New York state."
