(03/24/06) HOPATCONG ? A group of quick-thinking students are now known as heroes for saving their teacher?s life at Hopatcong High School.
Students say they grew frightened when their French teacher collapsed in front of the class. One student immediately threw the teacher?s desk out of the way while another ran to get help. Seventeen-year-old student Angel Hernandez then stepped in and administered CPR on the teacher, Cheryl Gramp.
Gramp suffered an allergic reaction to medication and had a seizure. Thanks to the heroic efforts of her students, she will now be fine. Hernandez says he had just come to Gramp?s classroom from CPR class, where he had practiced the procedure only twice before on a mannequin.
