There is a possibility for a few storms loitering through the area tonight. It's a summer-like pattern that will continue as we enter August.
Tomorrow will be the hottest day this week. Temperatures are expected to climb quickly to the mid- to upper-90s. With it being so humid, it's also possible it could feel like 100 to 105 degrees. Remember to slow it down, stay cool and stay hydrated.
The heat will help fuel some scattered storms late in the day. Some could possibly reach severe status with large hail and damaging winds. The real threat of nasty weather looks to be on Friday. A line of threatening weather moves in after 6 p.m. Destructive winds would be the primary threat.
The weekend looks iffy. It’s definitely not as nice as last weekend but not a total washout. However, rain does appear to make an appearance on both Saturday and Sunday.
OVERNIGHT: Scattered thunderstorms early in the evening, then clear after midnight. Temperatures dip to the mid-70s.
THURSDAY: Generally sunny with some afternoon clouds. Rain showers or thunderstorms are possible. Highs around 95 with lows around 77.
FRIDAY: Cloudy with afternoon thunderstorms that could become severe. Highs around 88. Lows around 75.
SATURDAY: Scattered storms in the morning and afternoon. Highs around 87 degrees. Lows dip to the mid-70s.
SUNDAY: Scattered thunderstorms. Highs around 86 with lows around 75.
