(02/08/06) NEWARK ? Some handicapped residents in Newark say they feel like second-class citizens since the start of a renovation project at City Hall.
According to handicapped residents, maneuvering around the building has become very difficult since the renovations began. One resident who used to work for the city says he?s spent his entire life helping others, now city leaders won?t step forward to return the favor. Those who say they?ve complained to city officials claim their complaints have fallen on deaf ears.
Wheelchair-bound residents say they?re not looking forward to future City Hall visits unless something is done to make their lives easier.
