A Maple Shade man has been charged after authorities say he damaged and stole multiple LGBTQ Pride flags from Haddonfield's business district earlier this week.

The Haddonfield Police Department said it received multiple reports Monday, June 22, of a person damaging and stealing Pride flags along Kings Highway. Detectives identified the suspect through witness statements and video evidence.

Police said Joshua Serad, 37, of Maple Shade, was taken into custody and charged in connection with the incident. He was released pending a court appearance.

Before the arrest, Haddonfield Mayor Dave Siedell publicly condemned the vandalism and theft, calling on anyone with photos of the incident, which he said occurred in broad daylight, to send them to police detectives to assist with the investigation.

In his appeal, Siedell described whoever was responsible for the vandalism as a "black-hearted, thin-skinned, broflake."
