A candlelight vigil will be held Tuesday for a Hackettstown senior who died over the weekend in a car accident in Washington Township.
Isabella Todaro, 17, attended Hackettstown High School with her twin brother Louis. She died Saturday in what Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello said was a “terrible accident on the mountain.”
Murello said he spoke to Hackettstown Mayor Jerry DiMaio, who told him the family is devastated. The family is described as an "amazing family that loves their town."
“It is not natural for a parent to lose a child under any circumstances,” Murello said in a statement.
The Hackettstown youth travel baseball team said their team was in the midst of playing when they found out the news about Todaro, which left them “incredibly stunned.”
The school district sent a note out to the community saying they will provide support for students and teachers Monday afternoon.
A GoFundMe was created for the family of Todaro. The candlelight vigil will be held at 6 p.m. in the open field on Fifth Avenue next to the Hatchery Hill School.
