Police in Wayne are searching for the man who shot and robbed a retired police officer Monday night.
According to police, the incident occurred outside the Boys and Girls Club. Police say 65-year-old Gordon Levine was leaving the club with Bingo money when a lone gunman approached him. Authorities say the gunman demanded the cash and asked for Levine?s car keys. When Levine hesitated, police say the gunman shot him in the abdomen.
The bullet struck Levine?s belt and buckle, which may have deflected some of the impact. He is at St. Joseph?s Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.
