GroMex, largest Mexican food distributor in the North East, to return to Paterson
Dozens of new jobs will be coming to Paterson, as the largest Mexican food distributor in the North East returns to the Silk City.
GroMex is packing up its warehouse in Passaic to relocate to a $6 million facility in Paterson’s East Side neighborhood.
Mayor Andre Sayegh says that Paterson residents will be given priority for factory jobs as the city looks to start construction.
“Paterson is in growth mode. Like I stated before, it's a significant achievement because it represents a significant investment in our city,” Sayegh says. “It goes with what we've been telling people. We've established stability and credibility here at City Hall. We are open for investment and are starting to see more interest in developing in Paterson."
Construction is expected to begin in the spring. The mayor says he hopes it will be complete by the end of the year.
