Six Flags Great Adventure closed early Monday due to a parkwide power outage.

A spokesperson for the park says that most of the rides were already closed due to inclement weather, so no one was stuck when the power went out.

Some indoor rides were still operating, but everyone was able to get off within five minutes.

Thunderstorms were moving through the area at the time, and there are unconfirmed reports that lightning was to blame for the outage.

Great Adventure guests were given a free pass to return to the park at a later date.
