Gov. Phil Murphy is
starting the process of running for a second term.
The governor announced Thursday he’s going to file paperwork with the state's
Election Law Enforcement Commission, which would allow he and Lt. Gov. Sheila
Oliver to start raising money for reelection.
He's likely to make a broader in-person announcement in the coming
months.
Gov. Murphy, who is a former U.S.
ambassador to Germany and a retired investment banking executive at Wall Street
firm Goldman Sachs, defeated former Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno in 2017 to succeed Gov.
Chris Christie.
