Gov. Phil Murphy visited Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Fair Lawn Thursday to highlight the $18.1 billion investment in New Jersey public schools as announced in his budget proposal.
It would increase kindergarten through 12th grade education aid by $578 million and pre-K funding by $50 million.
School districts could use the funds to address coronavirus-related issues, among other uses.
Murphy says the funding furthers his commitment to ensuring school districts have the necessary resources to meet the needs of both students and educators.
