Gov. Murphy signs bill allowing license plates frames

Drivers can now have frames on their license plates as long as it does not obscure the words that identify the plate as being from New Jersey.

Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill that will prevent drivers from getting fined due to obscured license plates.
Drivers can now have frames on their license plates as long as it does not obscure the words that identify the plate as being from New Jersey.
Officials say that in the last year, more than 500,000 tickets were written for drivers who had blocked plates.
