Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday that he issued an executive order allowing municipalities to create their own mask guidelines.
It comes as the delta variant is causing a surge of COVID-19 cases in the U.S.
He says he doesn't think universal mask guidelines for the state need to be implemented again due to high vaccination rates.
Lamont also issued an executive order requiring unvaccinated nursing home staff to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing.
