Gov. Cuomo: Pro sports leagues in NY can begin training camps
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at his daily news briefing on the coronavirus Sunday that professional sports leagues in New York can begin spring training camps with safety measures in place.
Gov. Cuomo also said that veterinary practices statewide can reopen on Tuesday.
The daily death toll in New York ticked up to 109 on Sunday, from 84 on Saturday.

BRIEFING NOTES:
-On daily numbers, Cuomo says total total hospitalizations, intubations are down. New cases are slightly up on the "rolling average". Daily deaths ticked up to 109, from 84 deaths yesterday.
-Cuomo is holding the press briefing at the beach - he notes that NY state beaches are open with restrictions. RV parks open tomorrow.
-"We're now decidedly in the reopening phase," Cuomo says.
-Even though it's "been a long time and people are anxious, we have to stay smart," as we start reopening, Cuomo says.
-Mid-Hudson and Long Island regions are still on track to begin Phase 1 of reopening on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
-LIRR is preparing to reopen; Cuomo says the MTA will be cleaning and disinfecting all trains and buses daily. The LIRR is ready to add more cars to help space out passengers so they can social distance as the downstate regions reopen. Cuomo reminds riders that face coverings are required.
 
-All veterinary practices will reopen in all regions on Tuesday, Cuomo says. 
-Professional sports leagues in New York can start training camps with safety precautions in place, the governor says.
 
-Cuomo discussed a blue ribbon commission to study the virus response and prepare for next time.
