All lanes on Route 18 reopened after a gas main break closed northbound and southbound for several hours Tuesday morning.
Police say a contractor for a Department of Transportation (DOT) staffed project hit a 24-inch gas main at Route 18 and Racetrack Road.
PSE&G says the cause is under investigation.
