At one time or another, everyone has had an orchid, more than likely it’s aphalaenopsis orchid. Those orchids are easy to take care of, but there are a few special tips to keep them healthy.

The Orchid Society of Long Island says the biggest mistake is people often overwater them and then the roots die.

Planting the orchid in moss or bark will help soak up the water without overwatering.

Want to get that orchid back in full bloom? The trick is to put it in a window sill and crack the window open for three weeks. The cooler temps at night will not hurt the plant and willhelp jump start the re-growth.
