Gov. Phil Murphy signed legislation to expand offshore wind in New Jersey.
The law now allows the new project – known as Ocean Wind 1 – to access federal tax credits and create more union jobs.
"This is game-changing. Climate change is real. Period. This is going to deal with that,” Murphy said at an event on Thursday. “It's going to deliver clean energy and fire up millions of households. It'll create thousands of union jobs. It's a particular game-changer for South Jersey."
The governor also signed two other bills during the event in Paulsboro. One is regarding film production in New Jersey. The other is about affordable housing.
