Family and friends of the late Detective Michael Morgan held a fundraiser to celebrate the life of man who loved his job.
The event, held at Pub 46 in Clifton, was the first time Morgan's friends and family gathered after saying goodbye. Morgan was killed while trying to protect a woman from an armed robbery in Paterson on Nov. 7.
Family friend Ed O'Mara says this fundraiser will be the first of many in order to keep Morgan's memory alive.
The two armed robbery suspects were captured two days after Morgan's death outside of Philadelphia. Nashali Gadson and Jerome Wright both pleaded not guilty to murder charges before Thanksgiving. ,p>Suspects in off-duty Newark detective killing appear in courtFuneral held for Newark detective killed in Paterson2 arrested in shooting death of Newark copNJ observes Blue Mass in honor of fallen officersOff-duty Newark detective fatally shot in PatersonPBA: Court failed to track man nabbed in cop deathPhotos of people of interest in Newark detective's murder releasedPaterson PD conference on fatal shooting of off-duty Newark officer
