Hundreds of runners flooded the streets of Metuchen to pound the pavement for a good cause.
The Fuccile Foundation and It Takes A Borough partnered up for the annual Fuce 5K family fun run. The start and finish lines for Sunday’s road race were at Metuchen High School where more than 800 runners attended.
The fundraiser was created in memory of Mike Fuccile. He was murdered in 2008 on his way to work in Jersey City.
Organizers say they aim to help families heal in the face of tragedy.
“It raises money for local families that are affected by tragedy. We use the proceeds from this to fund those types of responses when people have unfortunate instances in their life,” said John Mindler, board member of It Takes A Borough.
