St. Joseph's Medical Center administered its first doses of the coronavirus vaccine on Friday.
Rep. Bill Pascrell was at the Paterson hospital as front-line health care workers were vaccinated.
Chief Medical Officer Joseph Duffy was the first to receive the vaccine and says he wants to show the confidence he has in it.
"This vaccine represents hope," Duffy says. "Let hope stand for, 'Hang On, Pandemic Ending.'"
The hospital says it can vaccinate up to 500 people per day.
