A summer day camp is giving Bronx parents a fun and free place to leave their children during the summer.
Freedom Community Resource, Inc.?s day camp is headquartered at the Saw Mill Playground, where a 10-year-old girl lost her life to street violence less than a year ago. Organizers say they have tapped into the city?s resources and utilize volunteers to keep their services free. In addition to time at the playground, children will also go on field trips to places like museums, the library and public pools.
Many working parents say they are thankful they have a safe alternative for their children now that school is out.
