A free outdoor gym has opened to residents in Teaneck's Votee Park.

While many gyms across the Garden State has pivoted their workouts outdoors during the pandemic, the idea for this gym began two years ago.

A $200,000 project was enacted to help the community stay fit.

"With the COVID crisis pandemic, this is a breath of fresh air for our residents to come out, socialize and exercise with gyms being closed," says Township Manager Dean Kazinci.

Kazinci says equipment will be used on a first-come, first-serve basis. He says it's a user's "personal responsibility" to bring hand wipes and sanitizer.
