World War II collectors and re-enactors were on hand to help remember and pay tribute to the bygone era of the 1940s, showing everything from weapons and jeeps to GI foot lockers complete with pinup girls.
One of the several historic artillery batteries at the park, Battery Gunnison, was a coastal artillery unit during World War II. It holds such significance, local history buffs have spent five years restoring it to its former glory.
