Drivers in Brooklyn will need to find another way to cross the Gowanus Expressway beginning Wednesday night.
Officials with the Department of Transportation say that the Fort Hamilton Parkway Bridge over the expressway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The closure is due to a bridge rehabilitation project.
Officials say the closure will continue through Sept. 26, but no roadwork will be done on Saturday or Sunday nights.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to follow posted detours. Both the B16 and B17 bus stops will also be rerouted.
DOT officials warn there will be noise during overnight work operations.
