Fort Dix corrections officer charged with sexually abusing inmate

A federal corrections officer at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix has been charged with sexually abusing an inmate, federal prosecutors announced Wednesday.
Jordan Pensak, 27, of Middlesex County, was charged by criminal complaint with one count of sexual abuse of an individual in federal custody, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey.
Prosecutors say Pensak, who worked as a corrections officer at the low-security prison in Burlington County, had a consensual sexual relationship with an inmate and had sex with him in January 2026.
According to the complaint, Pensak and the inmate also exchanged sexually explicit photographs and messages through social media and electronic applications using two contraband cellphones the inmate possessed while in custody.
Federal authorities say Pensak also admitted to the relationship in text messages sent to multiple people, including members of the inmate's family. In one message, prosecutors said she expressed concern that she might be pregnant with the inmate's child.
Pensak made her initial appearance Tuesday in Camden federal court and was released on bail. If convicted, Pensak faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General investigated the case.
