Former Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice has been hired by Linden High School to coach its boys’ team.

Rice was fired from Rutgers around 10 years ago for abusing players by throwing basketballs and using homophobic slurs.

He has been working in New Jersey basketball, coaching with the Hoop Group Program at the shore and with the Patrick School since the scandal.
