A former middle school teacher in Carteret is accused of sexually assaulting a student.
Middlesex County prosecutors say 32-year-old Jeffrey Munguia, of North Bergen, was arrested Wednesday. An investigation revealed Munguia was the victim's teacher at Carteret Middle School when the incident allegedly occurred in 2022, according to authorities.
Munguia was charged with second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
