New Jersey saw record-high temperatures on Wednesday with 70 degrees at the Atlantic City Airport.
Many people took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather by heading out to the Jersey Shore.
Jeff Borab took a swim in the ocean in Avon. News 12 New Jersey found him along the boardwalk.
The water temperature was a chilly 43 degrees, but Borab says he didn’t need a wetsuit.
"It's not that bad when you get used to it,” he said. "I go in every day for the last couple of years. I love doing it, it keeps the voices away."
Borab was right alongside the surfers also getting in the water on Wednesday.
"It's always nicer to surf in warmer weather than it is to surf in 30- or 20-degree water,” says Christine Best, of Short Hills.
With outside temperatures running anywhere between 54 degrees to nearly 70 degrees in some parts of the state, it brought out dog walkers, runners and families to the beach in Asbury Park and Belmar.
Temperatures are still expected to be warm on Thursday before returning to more winterlike temperatures by the end of the week.
