A police officer in Florida has been fired after arresting two 6-year-old students at school.
The two students, a boy and a girl, were handcuffed last week following two unrelated incidents on misdemeanor battery charges.
At least one child was transported to a juvenile detention center.
According to reports, one of the students was acting up in class, which her grandmother said was related to lack of sleep.
But the officer didn't seem too interested in hearing about that.
The Orlando Police Department says its officers are allowed to arrest young children, but if kids are under 12 years old, the officer has to get approval from a watch commander first.
Officials say Officer Dennis Turner did not get permission.
Charges gave been dropped against the students.
