Folks in one Morris County community received their first tax bill since properties were revalued last year and most are seeing large increases. On average, homeowners in Florham Park are seeing a 24 percent increase in their taxes. Many say they are frustrated with soaring property taxes but not everyone is surprised by the sharp increase. Others say high taxes are the price you pay when you have a good piece of real estate. The average home assessment in Florham Park jumped from about $300,000 to nearly $700,000. City officials primarily blame the revaluation for the tax hike.
