The floodwaters are slowly starting to recede along the Delaware River in Trenton Friday.
The Island section of Trenton was completely evacuated after heavy rains flooded the Delaware River. The river finally crested Thursday night and is slowly receding. However, residents are still not allowed to return to their homes. Some residents are visiting their homes to see what kind of damage to expect when they are finally allowed back.
Meanwhile, Governor Corzine (D-NJ) told many state workers to take the day off Friday. He is planning to survey the damage and is also preparing to seek federal disaster assistance for the state.
