Bergen County residents are raising their voices in opposition of the new air traffic route over their homes. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced they are changing flight patterns in an effort to minimize delays in an already congested northeast region. The FAA says the new system will save an estimated 12 million minutes in flight delays at all four regional airports, including Newark Liberty International. However, the move has infuriated thousands of people living along the flight path, who say they already live with planes flying in and out of Teterboro Airport. The new plan will mean 200,000 additional planes flying overhead. The FAA's announcement is drawing criticism from both New Jersey senators, who?ve sent the agency a letter asking officials to reevaluate its plan. The FAA plans to hold a public hearing in April.
