A World War II veteran recently got the chance to take the flight of a lifetime.
Bob Mitchell, 95, served as a Navy lieutenant junior grade in World War II. He now lives at Atria Senior Living in Darien, Connecticut.
On Saturday, Mitchell came to Million Air White Plains in Westchester to fly alongside a pilot in a World War II-era Boeing Stearman biplane.
He says he's flown in helicopters before, but never in a plane like this one.
The flight was all thanks to Dream Flights, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring the greatest generation.
