Hundreds of mourners lined the streets in the Bronx Monday to mourn nine children and one woman who died in a horrific fire last week.
Mosque leaders put out blue tarps so the crowd of Muslim mourners could kneel in prayer. After a short service, the caskets were loaded into hearses and brought to their final resting place. Five of the children were laid to rest at a Millstone Township cemetery.
Meanwhile, the deadly fire has been spreading fire safety awareness throughout the Garden State. Fire officials are urging residents to change batteries in smoke alarms at least twice a year. Residents are also urged to have a fire escape plan.
