Two people suffered critical injuries following a fire at the Thunderbird Motel in Seaside Heights.

Firefighters say they were able to put the fire out with an extinguisher, but a man and woman in their 50s were badly burned.

The fire reportedly started from a mattress.

The victims were airlifted to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
