A firefighter in Dunellen was treated for heat exhaustion while battling a truck fire Tuesday morning.
Employees at American Power Cord were working on the truck on Smalley Avenue around 9 a.m. when it burst into flames. The fire then spread to a nearby building.
Firefighters rushed to get the fire under control.
Water spray trucks and air-conditioned vehicles were brought in to keep the crews cool. Temperatures were in the 80s Tuesday morning.
The firefighter who went to the hospital is expected to be OK.
