A high-rise fire in Monmouth County forced hundreds of senior citizens to evacuate their residences Sunday.
The fire broke out at Bethany Towers on Broad Street in Keyport. More than 150 firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze, which investigators say broke out on the fifth floor of an adjacent building. The building is home to about 500 senior citizens.
Authorities say 10 to 15 people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but no serious injuries were reported. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
