A fire ripped through an apartment complex on the Edison-Piscataway border Tuesday destroying 12 apartment units.
Firefighters say the high winds are to blame for the fast-moving blaze at the Rivendell Village Apartment Complex. The nine fire companies that battled the fire say the winds also hindered their efforts in putting out the flames.
Everyone in the apartment complex was able to evacuate safely. The Red Cross is working to shelter tenants who don't have anywhere to stay. Crews have brought heavy machinery in to knock down the remains of the apartment complex.
