A new FBI report finds that New Jersey is the No. 1 state for burglaries during the holiday season.

Last year, New Jersey had 83,000 burglaries at holiday time.

Officials say more than $130 million in items was stolen from homes last year alone.

Security experts say one way to protect your home is with lighting. They say bright lights inside and out can deter criminals. Having a security system or Ring doorbell can also be a deterrent.
